Studio Carbon selected for ‘Clean up your Shit’!

A few months ago we already wrote about this remarkable What if Lab. Remarkable, as this challenge was developed with a South-African start-up, but also because of its name: Clean up your Shit!. Our open call to find designers who want to contribute to the global water issue together with KaacKai resulted in inspiring applications. The technology exists, now it’s time to focus on the product design.

In the coming months, Indian-Dutch design agency Studio Carbon will be working on this. Studio Carbon, previously participant in What if Lab: Unhindered Participation, is a collective of creatives: a combination of designers, storytellers, and system thinkers. They believe in the power of ubiquitous design to empower every industry. Studio Carbon designs products, brands, interfaces, and systems with an intent to add to everyone’s future.

Their vision and working methods accordingly are in line with KaacKai’s ambitious mission: to change society’s attitude towards biological wastewater on a global scale. Through their products, Kaackai aims to offer as many people as possible the opportunity to deal with their wastewater in a different way. KaacKai’s technology transforms wastewater into reusable (gray)water, to use for irrigation purposes or to flush the toilet. With this cyclical use of water, millions of liters of water can be saved every day.
