This is the public space that connects us outside

Changing the world around us has never been so relevant. Right now we want to feel connected. Not online, but outside, with each other. What does public space look like in a city where residents feel healthy and happy? A space where everyone is welcome, which contributes to safety and health and which encourages interaction and encounters.

Sweco challenged Rombout Frieling, Studio 1:1 and Olifantenpad CS to design a new appearance for public space. Curious about the final results? Watch the video here!

The chosen concept!

On 21 October, the three design studios presented their concepts. The client, Sweco, was present with clients and a diverse selection committee. The selection committee has chosen Shadow Spaces from Studio 1:1 for further development!

The design studios are currently presenting their final results at Dutch Design Week 2021. On view until Sunday 24 October in Hall 3 of the Klokgebouw.
